Ceramic Building Restroom Renovation
URBANA-CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS US | 2,300 SF
The Ceramics Building is an important historic building on the campus, eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.
TKB recently designed toilet room renovations to address accessibility violations, provide an increased fixture count for women and add all-gender toilet rooms. Additionally, life safety systems were upgraded, and new electrical service was provided to the building. The work was designed so that public corridors maintained original design elements, and renovated rooms maintained a sympathetic approach. Building areas outside the areas of work were occupied throughout construction with minimal disruption. The construction was phased to maintain partial toilet room use while the construction was underway.
